Martyrs

“They did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”

~ Revelation 12:11

The cost of being a follower of Jesus Christ is significant. Jesus never hid from the reality when he spoke with his disciples and those who listened to him. He himself knew the great cost of laying his life down for others. If they persecuted Jesus, they would persecute those who followed him.

For many Christian believers from a Muslim background following Jesus will cost them their lives. Our Pashtun brothers and sisters live with this threat every day of their lives. There are many extremists who will do everything they can to stop Christians and that includes murdering them. We have known and lost many dear brothers and sisters over the years. We are also seeing more and more “seekers” – those speaking to Christians and asking questions about Jesus – losing their lives as well. Such is the determination of others to silence the name of Jesus Christ as Saviour, Lord and God Almighty amongst the Pashtun people. There is a great fear of Jesus – the way, the truth and the life.

It is not always possible to share the specific details of people on our web pages but we pray that you will remember the families and friends of those who have lost their lives. Whilst we live with the hope and assurance we have in Jesus Christ and our eternity with him, we know the human costs and pain of those left behind is very real and they need our continued love and support.
